Fichtner Mainwaring Park Medford

A Local Marketing Partner for Medford Businesses

Ikusa works with a small number of Rogue Valley businesses to make their websites actually make money. Not rank higher for the sake of ranking higher. Convert visitors into customers who book, buy, or walk through the door.

We’re based in Ashland, twelve minutes down the road. We know this valley. We know what a slow August looks like and what a business here needs to survive the quiet months between peak seasons. That matters more than most people realize when they’re hiring outside help. A national agency treats your business as a template. We treat it as a business we actually understand, because we live in the same economy you do.

We're not looking for transactions. We're looking for relationships.

Ikusa works with a small number of clients at a time, on purpose. There’s no sales funnel and no hand-off to a junior account manager once the contract is signed. Every client works directly with founder Sean Smith, for as long as we work together, which for most clients has been years, not months.

That’s the whole model. We’re not trying to close you and move on to the next lead. We’re trying to become the partner you call when something changes in your business, and you need to know what it means for how you show up online.

Travel Southern Oregon is a good example of what that looks like over time. Ikusa has worked with the region’s official tourism bureau for more than 2 years, helping them grow their Top 10 Google rankings by 419.8%, increase total keyword visibility by 95%, and grow organic search impressions by 71.85% in a single year. Those numbers came from staying engaged long enough to build real authority, not from a quick campaign.

What this actually looks like

Ikusa doesn’t sell packages off a menu. We look at your site, tell you what’s actually costing you customers, and fix it. Some of that touches search visibility. Most of it touches the parts of your website that make a stranger decide to trust you enough to buy, book, or call.

Sean has spent 25 years doing this, going back to before Google existed in its current form. He’s been an Art Director and a UX Designer. He ran marketing for a Citigroup division. He led search and social strategy for Musician’s Friend and Guitar Center, two national retail brands, before he ever started Ikusa. He holds a Master’s degree in Practical Philosophy and Applied Ethics, which is a strange thing to bring up in a marketing bio until you realize that trust, the thing every website is actually trying to earn, is fundamentally a question of character. He founded Ikusa in 2013 to do this work directly, for businesses he could actually sit across a table from, without an agency layer in between.

Local, not remote

Sean sits on the Social Equity and Racial Justice Advisory Committee for the City of Ashland, and on the boards of OHRA and SOPride. He teaches a course at SOU through OLLI. This isn’t a satellite office for an out-of-area agency. This is where we live and where our reputation actually has to hold up.

Let's talk about your site

If you’re looking for a vendor to check a box, we’re probably not the right fit. If you’re looking for a local partner who understands your business and stays invested in it, we’d like to talk.
